As we continue our critical work to drive meaningful change for older adults in diverse communities, we are looking for a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Policy & Advocacy Coordinator.
About the Role
The Policy & Advocacy Coordinator will play an essential role in monitoring and coordinating advocacy opportunities, organizing meetings and events with key policymakers, and deepening engagement with Coalition members and partners in the aging field. Working closely with the DEC’s National Director, Programs and Communications Manager, and member organizations, this position will provide key support to our Advocacy Task Force, ensuring alignment on policy priorities and strengthening our collective impact.
Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking someone who is:
Passionate about social justice and aging advocacy
Organized and detail-oriented, with strong skills in bill and policy tracking, meeting coordination, and advocacy strategy
Experienced in policy and/or advocacy support, with at least two years of relevant experience—preferably in aging, caregiving, health, and/or social, gender, and racial justice
Eager to build relationships with policymakers and community organizations to advance DEC’s mission
Position Details
Status: Full-time, Exempt
Schedule: 35 hours per week
Location: Greater D.C. Area (remote work options available, but the role requires attending meetings in Washington, D.C., and potentially other locations)
Reports to: DEC’s National Director
